Trusting God is believing that His will is always best.
Trusting God is following in His footsteps.
Trusting God is obeying His commands.
Trusting God means doing the big things AND the small things.
Trusting God means being faithful in everything, great or small.
Trusting God means loving.honoring.serving.obeying.following Him.
Deeper than the deepest chasm
Wider than the widest sea
Longer than the longest river
Higher than the highest mountain
Brighter than the brightest star
Beauty greater than anything called beautiful
More majestic by far than the greatest king
Power unlimited, knowledge unfathomable
Love boundless, measureless, unbelievable
Faithful to the very end.
The God that I follow is all of this and more. It is His faithfulness to me that drives me to love Him. Apart from Him I am nothing. Is it so amazing to trust a God who has never been unfaithful? Should it be hard to trust a God that has never broken His word? His love for me is measureless. How can I do anything less than give Him all that I am, all that I have? Anything I have has been given to me by Him to begin with. Who am I to think that I can ever deserve anything from Him? And yet…
Does a child expect good things from his father? Absolutely. A child assumes that he deserves to be fed and clothed and taken care of. Weak and helpless, a baby does nothing to deserve anything, but a good father will proved everything that baby, toddler, child, and adolescent needs - not merely enough, but enough in abundance.
So we can assume that our Father will give us good things. We can assume that He will proved for every need - not merely enough, but enough in abundance. He loves us so He will care for us. Our kinship with Christ entitles us to good things. And yet…
It is a gift. Undeserved, unasked for - yet given freely. God’s gift of love, the gift He gave of His only Son, the God-Man, Jesus Christ. His life for mine. A gift deserves a gift in return - it’s not a payment for a service. It’s a gift of gratitude for the saving grace of Christ. A gift to demonstrate my love and thankfulness for what was done for me. My life as a daily offering. My love as a token of gratitude. My service as an act of faith.
He loved first and most. He was faithful first, and He will remain faithful even after this world has passed away - He is faithful to the very end. Anything and everything good that I do I can only do in imitation of His perfection.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7
6 Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD.
7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.
1 John 4:7-11
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
John 15:12-13
12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Are you filled with love from your God? A love that is set as a seal on your heart, as strong as death? Are you marked by your jealous Lord? God is love, the flame of His existence is Love. Love cannot be given with things, even all the wealth of the richest man in the world. Nothing can overcome love. God is love, and His love was made real and known by the sending of His only Son into this world, to die that we might live. Our love can only spring from His love for us; He loved us first and greatest. Love one another, as evidence of His great love for you. There is no greater love than the sacrifice of one’s own life for one’s friends. Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for us. For you, and for me.
Can you love like your God?
Not yet am I who I ought to be
This mortal flesh I long to see
Burned away, perfected, refined
Imperfect thoughts and temptations cleansed from my mind
Yet no longer am I that once I was!
Filled with thanksgiving for God’s grace because
By His powerful love and loving might
I am brought out of the darkness and into the light.
I praise the Lord.

Love for myself is futile.
Love for Christ is a start.
Killing my pride is a must.
Humility always is the key.
Thus comes victory.
Thus comes freedom.
Up until grad week, I had no idea what I was supposed to do over the next year. Now I’m heading to Taiwan in a couple months to teach English for a year. I only know that I am where I am because of God’s goodness and His constant guidance. The past month and a half are a testimony to His perfect plan. All I could do; all I can continue doing; is trust and run full speed ahead. Just like the rhino ;)
